GOLFO DEL TIGULLIO: Portofino, Santa Margherita, Rapallo, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna. The first town you reach heading south from Genoa is the renowned summer and winter tourist resort of Portofino, a corner of paradise in the Park’s Nature Reserve with is characteristic maquis shrubland. Moving down the coast brings you to the beautiful Paraggi Bay where the sea is a bright turquoise blue. Further along you have S. Margherita Ligure, located in one of the Gulf’s most beautiful bays and a popular holiday resort the whole year round. At the far end of the Tigullio Gulf lies Rapallo, another well-known tourist resort, thanks to its grand hotels along the seafront, a number of high-class establishments and the numerous artistic, social and sporting events, not to mention its privileged position in the most sheltered part of the Tigullio Gulf.
